Coffee Bag Size Guide: oz, lb, g, kg, Inches and Millimeters

Fill weight alone does not define the finished bag

Two coffees with the same net weight can occupy different volumes because bean size, roast level, grind, density, and settling behavior vary. A reliable size recommendation combines weight, product density, dimensions, closure position, and filling method.

Common information for North American projects

Share the target fill such as 8 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz, 1 lb, 2 lb, or 5 lb. If you have a reference pack, measure flat width, overall height, side gusset or bottom gusset, and usable space in inches.

Metric information for global projects

Provide g or kg and dimensions in mm. When a range will be sold in several markets, include both systems in the brief so artwork, carton labels, and internal specifications stay aligned.

Allow for functional space

Use a physical fill test before final approval. The test should use the actual coffee or a representative product with similar density.
